Payton Verhulst Interview -- TUESDAY CARDINAL COUPLE

PAYTON VERHULST INTERVIEW

Paulie caught up with the University of Louisville's first 2021 commit for women's basketball -- Payton Verhulst -- for an interview yesterday. The two discussed a wide range and variety of subjects in a truly excellent interview that you won't want to miss.

Payton, a 6'1" junior guard, lives in DeSoto, Kansas and attends Bishop Miege High School. Her team advanced from the Kansas Girls High School Basketball Tournament from the quarterfinals to the Final Four and then saw their season come to an end because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bishop Miege was 21-2 on the 2019-20 season, ranked #1 in Kansas Girls High School Basketball.

Payton was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Kansas.

We hope you enjoy the chat with Payton and hope that she...and all high school student-athletes...can get back to the game(s) they love soon. Interview link below:

PAYTON VERHULST INTERVIEW

A big "thanks" to Payton for spending time with us via phone. We wish her the best in her senior season and look forward to her arrival at Louisville !

WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

Jared Anderson shared this gem he found out Twitter with us yesterday and it presents the question -- Where would you want to be in a quarantine?

The Cardinal Couple crew was divided on their responses. Two of us chose the KFC YUM! Center, two of us went for Ralph Wright Natatorium and we had one each for Freedom Hall and Cardinal Stadium.

What say you?

  1. Great interview with Payton. I think we are going to like her at lot at UofL. Put me in the Ralph Wright. I love Jazmine Jones and could listen to Katie all day. Plus, maybe Arthur would teach me to swim!

Life goes on. Had an upset family at the store last night because they tried to come in together mom, dad and three kids and we're limiting one member per family. No cloth masks either. They said they'd go elsewhere. No problem.

  2. That's a tough one. I'll go with the Yum! because I think for a long quarantine Walz would prove to be the most entertaining. I love his interviews.
