#15 Louisville returns from their bye week over the weekend to resume conference play with a trip to Pittsburgh. The Cards and Panthers have an early 6:00pm tip-off and the game will air on ACC Network.
Pitt enters the game with a 6-10 record while starting ACC play 0-3. They've lost to Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, and Georgia Tech. Their last two losses have come by a combined 15 points while their loss to Virginia Tech was by 50.
The Cards have started the season 13-2 with their first two ACC games being wins. UofL defeated Miami and Duke before having an early conference bye week.
Liatu King is one of the top players in the country with 20.3 points per game. That mark is top in the ACC. King is also averaging 10.0 rebounds per game for a double-double. Aislin Malcolm is the Panthers' second top scoring with 10.8 per game.
An interesting tidbit about this game is Pitt's current head coach Tory Verdi coached Louisville's Sydney Taylor when both were previously at UMass. Verdi accepted the head coach position for the Panthers in the offseason while Taylor decided to use her COVID-19 year of eligibility at Louisville.
Louisville is dominating the all-time series 25-2. The Cards have won 21 straight against the Panthers including a 76-69 win last season.
After their trip up north on Thursday, UofL will head back home to face Wake Forest on Sunday at 2:00pm.
Happy Thursday and Go Cards!
Jared
