It's Daryl here, Jared and I switched this week due to the Bats being in town. I started thinking about what I wanted to write about early yesterday and I thought it would be a good opportunity to reflect and appreciate the Cardinal programs we've watched grow and blossom over the last decade-ish.
ALL ACC Awards
2022 -Player of the year (Claire Chausse), setter of the year (Raquel Lazaro), Coach of the year (DBK) and defensive player of the year (Amaya Tillman) - The Cardinals dominated the recognitions with 4 of the 5 honors.
2021 - Setter of the year (Tori Dilfer), Coach of the year (DBK) - Louisville led all schools with eight student-athletes on the All-ACC Teams
2020 - Setter of the year (Tori Dilfer), Defensive player of the year (Amaya Tillman), freshman of the year (Anna DeBeer), Coach of the year (DBK) - - The Cardinals dominated the recognitions with 4 of the 5 honors.
2019 - Aiko Jones named to First team ALL ACC, Anna Stevenson names to Second team ALL ACC, Amber Stivrins and Amaya Tillman named ALL Freshman ACC.
2018 - Setter of the Year (Wilma Rivera) Melanie MCHenry and Molly Sauer were named to the ALL ACC First team
2017 - Setter of the Year (Wilma Rivera) Defensive Player of the year (Molly Sauer) Fourteen different schools are represented on the All-ACC Team, led by Louisville with six selections.
2016 - Tess Clark and Molly Sauer named to ALL ACC Second team
2015 - ACC Player and Setter of the year (Katie George), Molly Sauer Defensive Player and Freshman of the year, Coach of the Year (Anne Kordes) Louisville swept the ACC Volleyball individual awards for the first time since 2006 when Duke swept
2014 - Katie George and Janelle Jenkins named to ALL ACC first team, Tess Clark named to Second team, Maggie DeJong and Tess Clark named to All freshman team

All of this to say, the VolleyCARDS are on the rise. Not like we didn't know that already but I thought this would be a great visual. This has been a fun ride, Louisville fans! Shoutout to the long timers who have carried them this far. And here's to taking that NEXT STEP!!! 🏆
