Atlanta Dream lose heart-breaker to Lynx...Radio Today. Saturday Cardinal Couple
ANGEL AND SHONI GO FOR 50 BUT DREAM FALL 84-82
A tough way to lose last night for Atlanta...up by sixteen in the third quarter but falling to the visiting Minnesota Lynx by two in Phillips Arena during WNBA action last night.
A very big night for Angel McCoughtry with 32 points and six steals in 31 minutes and also great numbers for Shoni Schimmel who saw 38 minutes of playing time, scored 18 points and dished out eight assists. Shoni had 13 at halftime.
In the end, though...it was Maya Moore for Minnesota saving the day. She hit her fifth three with 2:19 left to give the Lynx a 80-79 lead and they never trailed after that. Moore had 36 points to lead all scorers.
A great effort from Atlanta in defeat and maybe head coach Michael Cooper has seen the light and realizes that increased minutes for Shoni Schimmel equals good play for Atlanta.
