Saturday Cardinal Couple -- Habula's two scores lead Cards to 2-1 win over Wright St.

- Freshman forward helps Cards start season with win.

Karen Ferguson Dayes has a knack for finding talent across the borders. Christine Exeter (Canada) and Charlyn Corral (Mexico) led the Cards in scoring last season.

Welcome Isabella Habuda...Coach KFD's latest Canadian find. The Ontario freshman scored both goals in Louisville's 2-1 win over Wright State in Dayton last night.

This one was scoreless until the final two minutes in the first half. Shannon Dennehey found Habuda with a pass and the Cards drew first blood...taking that 1-0 lead into halftime.

Two minutes into the second half....guess who again? This time freshman Chatham Deprosao fed Habuda for the score and the Cards held Wright State scorless until the final minute of the game.

Stats solidly on UofL's side...Louisville held a 9-2 shots on goal advantage and took 17 total shots compared to WSU's three.

Gotta love a tough defense.

The work gets a little harder for Cardinal goalie Paige Brown and her crew Sunday...they travel to Champaign to face the Fighting Illini.

On tap for today...Volleyball has an exhibition at 6 p.m. in Cardinal Arena against the UofL alumnae. Field Hockey travels to Iowa for their first exhibition of the season. They'll face the Hawkeyes at 3 p.m.

Our Saturday broadcast at 11 a.m. on Crescent Hill Radio looks to be a busy one...with the fall season finally rolling. Worldwide and Paulie will discuss hoops, soccer, volleyball, field hockey, WNBA and more. PLUS....WE HAVE AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH UofL WBB HEAD COACH JEFF WALZ!!  Take our weekly Worldwide Quiz along with Worldwide!
