Catching up on Volleyball and a heartwarming story

Saturday CARDINAL COUPLE

- Volleyball Side Out Club and letter

- A heartwarming story

- CARDINAL COUPLE RADIO SHOW this morning

The University of Louisville Volleyball team is reaching out to fans and potential seat fillers.

Dear Cardinal Fan,
To love what you do and know that it matters, how can anything be more fun! That's exactly how I feel about
coaching here at the University of Louisville and the student-athletes I serve. My first two seasons were an
inauguration of change and growth in the volleyball program: new coaches, new enthusiasm, new expectations, new
goals, and new challenges. They are the progress of what was, what is, and what will be for Louisville Volleyball.
Yet, one constant remained—your wonderful and generous support to our team through your attendance, your
positive notes of encouragement, your gifts, your advocacy, and most importantly, your loyalty.
The 2012 season was dynamic and successful in many regards, but of note was the culmination of four volleyball
careers: Kaitlynn James, Gwen Rucker, Lola Arslanbekova and Tanya Lukyanenko. Each has had a positive
influence and impact on and off the court at Louisville. All four lead a senior campaign that resulted in winning the
regular season and tournament Big East Championships and a Top-10 national ranking. Also, they all received postgraduate opportunities playing professionally overseas. These remarkable young women have helped me build upon
the foundation you have helped lay here.
Our goal is to win the conference championship, earn a post-season berth and advance in the NCAA tournament.
Without a doubt, our ultimate vision for the volleyball program is to win the National Championship. Our vision
quest is reflected by focusing our daily efforts on being the best we can be with the hope that our diligence
and purpose will reap rewards. To want what you've never had and to do what you've never done takes a deep
commitment to change and an even deeper commitment to grow. It is because of growth that we ask for your
continued support and contribution to our volleyball program.
Our program will be developing a booster club this coming season to facilitate fundraising needs. I am asking for
your help in spreading the word and getting involved. Generous financial contributions have been made to foster
our current foundation, but we need the annual support of our fans and alumnae to enhance our restricted budget and
compete at a higher level. At this time, our specific fundraising focus is a competitive overseas trip in the summer of
2015, which will provide us additional training and competitive opportunities heading into the 2016 season. It seems
far away, but I need your support now to make it a possibility!
As a SIDEOUT CLUB member, you will receive an invitation to special volleyball events. Events include the
following:
• Post-match Reception with the team on Friday, November 22.
• Post-season NCAA Announcement Social.
• Team Banquet
• Golf Outing on Monday, July 14, 2014.
• Spring Social with Anne Kordes & the Cards (Ace Club Members)
Louisville Volleyball is many things—cherished memories, great students, wonderful athletes, successful alumnae,
incredible fans—but most cherished is the shared connection we have to the sport and the University of Louisville.
Please stay connected.
Blessed are the givers . . . thankful are the receivers!
Go CARDS!

    1. We have no knowledge of that. Rumors tend to fly. If you have concrete proof, bring it. This isn't The National Enquirer.
