Seemed really talented. A SHAME! Ddi she leave on her own terms or did Walz tell her that it was in her best interest to leave? This could be a good sign to things to come for the 2014 class....did Breedlove ever make it?
ReplyDeleteWe have no details as of 10:35 p.m. except that Cannon is no longer on the roster. We have heard the Breedlove is finishing up summer classes in New Jersey. We would expect she would possibly arrive on campus after completion of those. When that date is, we aren't sure.
ReplyDeleteGood night, all!

If you look at her resume, it not too surprising. She had already left 2 Div. 1 schools prior to JUCO. I do not pretend to know what is going on in her mind and decision making. However, we are fine at the guard spot and Cannon defecting opens up one more spot for 2014's and there are a plethora of kids vying for those spots. Vivians, Flaherty, Dunbar, Hines-Allen to name a few. Louisville Women's basketball will be fine, and perhaps better for it. In the meantime, I wish Ms. Cannon well, where ever life takes her next.
ReplyDeleteDoes not sound good about Breedlove either. But like you said, we have a lot more room schollies open for 2014 now.
ReplyDeleteNot surprising - never understood where the minutes were for Cannon or Breedlove. --PDX Phil
ReplyDeleteSo this whole deal around Breedlove and Cannon? Walz brought them in because he thought probably that Jude and Monny wouldn't cut it at point guard and Bria wouldn't either? I still don't get it. He could have gone after two 6'4" or taller girls.
ReplyDeleteI'll never understand coaching philosophy.
Blue Lou
Seriously Cardinal Couple you are going to make us wait until Saturday for Walz's commnets? They must not be all that good then.

Everrything Coach Walz does is great. If he were a lawnmower, he'd be a state-of-the-art Toro self propelled, Nicko.

Someday, you WBB fans will get it and realize that a powerful post isn't the answer to dominance in WBB. It is all about scorers and defense. I bet you that the Cards take full advantage of the 10 second time-line rule this season and score more on steals, turnovers and fast break transition. Conditioning will be the key. Healthy, fast players who don't wear out in the final minutes of a game and are able to score and create opportunities.
ReplyDeletePlayers who can shut down an opponent in the first half, go up by 20+ and then maintain the lead and pressure the rest of the way. You don't need a 6'6" post for that. You need team ball, good defense and girls who can hit layups and free throws.
Size doesn't matter. Skill does. If you find that rare combination of both, you are extremely fortunate because it is a rarity.
If what I heard is true Louisville should be ashamed at how they talk to their players....
ReplyDeleteA little vague on the purported allegation. Got any specifics, names and times? After all, you are commenting anonymously. It's easy to swing the hammer when you aren't living in the house you're building...We'll keep your identity confidential...or it is just another jilted UofL suitor or disgruntled UK fan?

Just as I figured...a gutless wonder who hides behind the safety of a anonymous accusation. Thanks for blocking your IP also.
DeleteHow bout them Kayuts, biotch?
Paulie
What did you hear? Yeah, Walz will get in players faces and say some things. What coach doesn't. She like many others just couldn't handle his pressure.
ReplyDeleteLet me be clear... Since you removed what I said... 1st I"m notin your conference nor is my daughter so no threat there, 2nd I cheered for you all to win last year..3rd only cowards present themselves one way during recruiting and another once the player signs....be real... As I said... IF what I heard was true.....have a good day
