Louisville women's soccer returns home following a two-game road stint- a trip where the Cards went 0-2. Tonight's match-up puts the Cards against #2 Florida State. This is the second straight top 10 team Louisville has faced after squaring off against then-#10 Notre Dame last week.
The Seminoles bring an undefeated 8-0-1 record with them to Dr Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium. FSU has defeated a pair of ranked teams in TCU and Clemson while drawing with #1 North Carolina recently. They earned the 3-3 draw by scoring with seven seconds remaining.
On the season, Florida State is averaging 2.89 goals per game. They've scored one goal once and have not been shut out this season. The Seminoles put up a five-goal performance against South Florida in the Battle of the Acronyms (FSU vs USF). Defensively, FSU has allowed nine goals this season. Five of the goals came from Clemson and North Carolina.
Nine players have scored a goal for FSU with Jordynn Dudley (seven goals) and Onyi Echegini (six goals) leading the way. Cristina Roque has logged every minute in goal with 10 saves and a .526 save percentage.
For Louisville, the Cards have scored 11 goals on the season with a season-high three goals scored against both Central Michigan and Pitt. Louisville has also been shut out six times and did not score in their last two outings.
Kickoff is set for 7:00pm ET and will be aired on ACCNX. Paulie and I both hope to be in attendance and we might have a surprise appearance by Case as well.
