Louisville women's soccer continues their road stint with a trip to #8 Clemson. The Tigers sit third in the ACC with a 5-1-1 mark and an 11-1-3 record on the season. Clemson is riding a two-game win streak with victories over Duke and Virginia Tech.
Clemson is averaging 2.67 goals per game with 40 total goals on the season. Makenna Morris powers the offense with seven goals and five assists. Caroline Conti and Samantha Meredith each have five goals. The Tigers have spread the wealth with 13 different players logging a score.
More impressively, Clemson has surrendered just eight goals in 17 matches. Half of those came in a loss against Florida State. They have shut out 10 opponents this year.
Louisville is 3-7-5 this season with all three wins coming at home. They're 0-5-1 on the road. With three games left on the season, the Cards are guaranteed a below .500 season, but still finish strong in the ACC with a current 2-3-2 record.
The Cards are eighth in the ACC with eight points. Wake Forest and Virginia Tech hold the sixth and seventh place spots with nine points each. The top five teams: Florida State (19), Pitt (16), Clemson (16), Notre Dame (16), and North Carolina (15) seem to be locks for the conference tournament, which only the top six teams qualify for.
You can catch tonight's match on ACC Network Extra at 7:00pm.
Happy Thursday and Go Cards!

I'd like to see WSOC win a couple to try and help save the coaches job. AD Josh doesn't look like the kind of guy who will put up with a .300 win % no matter how long the coach has been here.
ReplyDeleteON HOOPS, with only returning 4 players, 2 starters from last season, what do some of you expect. Our fans who are paying attention, saw first hand this summer the talent CJW has collected and know we will have a legitimate contender by years end.
