Hello again CardNation and welcome back to the weekend!! Hard to believe there have been TWO football games since the last time I checked in. I had an incredible holiday weekend traveling to the South Carolina coast to celebrate my best friend’s wedding. She’s a huge UofL fan too so we had the game on during rehearsal dinner on last Friday.
Anyways! Enough of that, lets get into the joy and excitement of UofL Women’s Athletics.

The Women's soccer program hit the road for a bout with the Indiana Hoosiers on Thursday evening and the Field Hockey Cards are set to face a Top 20 matchup with the Ohio State Buckeyes this evening.
UofL was not able to steal a giant victory Thursday night as they fall for the 4th time this season to move to 1-4-2 on the year. Indiana scored in the ninth minute off a corner kick in the and again in the opening minutes of the second half. Erynn Floyd tallied nine saves against the Hoosiers to set a career-high mark. Louisville was outshot 20-5 in the match, and didn't register a single shot in the first half. IU now leads the overall series 3-2-2.
IU Coach Bennekom was extremely complimentary of their team saying their performance against the Cardinals was probably the best performance of their season so far. Louisville struggled to gain any momentum against the Hoosiers as it shows in the final box score.
Louisville welcomes Wyoming to Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium on Sunday, September 10. The matchup from the Cardinals and Cowgirls will begin at 5:30 p.m. ET and will be aired nationally on the ACC Network.
Field Hockey
It will be the third Top 20 opponent in five games for the Cards. Ohio State is one of just two unbeaten teams remaining in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes' 5-0 record represents their best start in 17 years – since beginning 8-0 in 2006.
Offensively, the charge has been led by forward Makenna Webster, who already has 17 points on the season (seven goals, three assists). She was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Freshmen Brenna Bough and Anne Marie Krebs are second and fourth on the team, respectively, in total points. Bough scored her first two collegiate goals in Monday's 5-0 win over UC Davis and Krebs has five points so far (one goal, three assists).

The Cardinals' defense has allowed just three goals in four games and they rank ninth nationally in goals-against average (0.75).
As Always,
