Muskies Hold Visiting Cards WSOC Scoreless

A tough Sunday for Louisville women's soccer, taking the trip to Cincinnati for a match against the Xavier Musketeers and ending up on the short end of a 2-0 contest.

The Cards (0-1-1) held a slight edge over XU statistically in the first 45 minutes. The had four shots and to on goal, while Xavier had but one shot and one shot on goal. They made it count, however, scoring with 22:20 left in the half.

The second half featured Xavier scoring again, this time just 14 minutes into second half action and that score proved to be the final score of the match.

Overall, Louisville had nine shots, Xavier eight. Ravin Alexander and Addie Chester led Louisville in shots, with two each.  Xavier had six shots on goal, Louisville four. Both teams had four saves...Erryn Floyd going the distance for UofL in goal. Xavier has 14 fouls in the match, the Cards 10. Each team had three corner attempts.

The Cards WSOC squad returns to action on Thursday, with a visit to Dayton..

Field Hockey

We do know that Louisville Field Hockey was headed to Athens, OH for a scrimmage Sunday versus the Ohio University Bobcats. What we don't know is the final outcome of the contest.

This isn't unusual in exhibition scrimmages. Most SID's don't report the outcomes or stats. If we happen to be lucky enough to get one, we'll do a recap and usually provide photos.

We'll have any news on the scrimmage here, if we get it..
