ACC WBB MEDIA DAY
We step away from fall sports to turn our attention to a popular winter sport- Louisville women's basketball. For the Cards, they'll be well represented at the event with Jeff Walz, Hailey Van Lith, Mykasa Robinson, and Olivia Cochran present.
I recently bumped into Kasa and Payton Verhulst at a fall sporting event for another Louisville team and both expressed their excitement for the upcoming season. Despite Charlie Creme's lack of faith, both Cardinals have high expectations this season.
Coach and the three players will go live for a press conference at 8:30 a.m. ET on ACCNX, with the players having some tine on air without Walz at 8:45 a.m. on ACCN. Walz will then get the spotlight to himself at noon on ACCN.
The segments will most likely preview the season, reflect on last year, and take a look into the lives of the players.
Robinson enters her final year of eligibility after returning to use her COVID-19 year. Van Lith and Cochran are rising juniors. All three have played a crucial part to each season they have been with Louisville.
The first chance fans will get a chance at an in-person look at this year's team will be Louisville Live on Oct. 21. This year, Louisville Live will be held at Louisville Slugger Field. Fourth Street Live and Churchill Downs have been hosts in the past.
The regular season will begin on Monday, Nov. 7 at 5:00 p.m., when Cincinnati comes to the KFC Yum! Center. Louisville has five non-conference home games. Bellarmine is considered a road game, but the game will be held at Freedom Hall, giving fans a chance for a short-distance road game. The Cards also make a short trip down I-64 to face Kentucky at Rupp Arena.

We plan to have plenty of coverage of Louisville women's basketball again and Paulie is working on seeing what interviews he might be able to set up.
Happy Tuesday and Go Cards!

The girls and Walz were both very good on ACC Media Day, but you could tell that the interviewers had much more fun and interest in those Notre Dame girls and ANTONELLI'S love affair with all things Wolfpack and Wes Moore. Typical. At least Muffet wasn't on any of the broadcast I saw.

Man, I hope Muffie has retired or that wild beast she wears around her neck devoured her in the off-season.

Wes Moore STILL reminds me of some good 'o boy used car salesman trying to unload junk heaps on country bumpkins. "EZ monthly payments, only a few dollars down payment and our exclusive 90 day guarantee".

I always like to watch the ACC WBB Media Days to give me a general idea about the league. In shot, three things stood out to me:
1) VT really helped their case in the portal. You add Taylor Soule,
Ashley Owusu, Kayana Traylor, and Ciara Ford to what they had coming back, which includes Elizabeth Kitley, and they are a definite threat to contend for the title.
2) Clemson only has three seniors and a transfer from Elon. We are doomed for the cellar again, I fear. Even with Amari Robinson.
Way too many freshmen and sophomores.
3) Debbie Antonelli picked Louisville to win it all. I guess she and Wes Moore got a divorce. Ha, ha.
I am ready for women's hoops, even if it's just to see what talent the rest of the league has.. Amanda added to the staff a Director of Quality Control and a Director of Player Development. I wish she'd add a dominating center and a point guard that can hit threes.
