We turn our attention back to some of our fall sports after spending the last couple of days on women's basketball. Women's basketball will be participating in Louisville Live at Louisville Slugger Field next Friday night if you're wanting more basketball hype.
Louisville Alumni and Louisville Athletics are proud to partner for Cardinal Game Changers, a hybrid homecoming event featuring a panel of former student-athletes sharing life experiences, personal stories of triumph, and how their UofL experience contributed to their success.
Louisville Volleyball
After sweeping Boston College and Syracuse on the road last weekend, Louisville volleyball stayed put at #2 in the AVCA Poll, just behind Texas. Nebraska, San Diego, and Wisconsin round out the Top 10 in the Coaches Poll. Ohio State, Stanford, Pitt, Purdue, and Minnesota finish off the top 10. Other notable rankings include #11 Georgia Tech, #19 Kentucky, and #23 Western Kentucky.
Louisville holds a 15-1 record with 12 matches remaining. Their 6-0 conference mark ties them with Pitt at the top of the ACC. No other team sits better than 4-2.
The Cards return home to host Virginia Tech and Wake Forest this weekend at the L&N FCU Arena.
Field Hockey
Despite a 1-1 record on the road over the weekend, Louisville field hockey held steady a #7 in the latest NFHCA rankings. North Carolina continues to hold the #1 ranking, but Maryland has been closing in on them and currently sits at #2. Northwestern, Penn State, Iowa, and Virginia are all in front of the Cards. Princeton, Saint Joseph's, and Michigan round out the top 10. #11 Syracuse, #12 Wake Forest, #19 Boston College, and #24 Duke help complete the ACC invasion of the rankings.
Louisville enters the final five matches of the regular season with a 10-3 record, but is 0-3 in conference play. They have three remaining ACC matches with two of those being at home.
Sitting at #7 in the Coaches Poll is a solid position. The rpi also has the Cards at #7. However, another loss or two can be damaging to NCAA Tournament hopes. 18 teams (nine automatic qualifiers and nine at-large bids) make the NCAA Field Hockey Tournament. Four wins against ranked opponents helps the resume and wins against a few other upcoming ranked opponents can only improve that, but losses will hurt.
The Cards return home this weekend to host Duke and Ball State.
Cardinal Game Changers
This is the first time we, at Cardinal Couple, have been asked to spread the news about this (seemingly) yearly event. Sounds interesting to us.///
Join them as they celebrate alumni successes, demonstrate the value of a UofL degree and discuss important issues to the Cardinal Community.

Today is no bra day. I am surprised Jared doesn't have a set of photos for this.
