Monday Cardinal Couple -- Field Hockey, Golf win....women's soccer falls
MONDAY CARDINAL COUPLE
- Field Hockey gets road win over Northwestern
- Cards finish first and second in Cardinal Kickoff
- Soccer can't halt RedHawks in Lynn Stadium
MADDOCK'S SCORE ENOUGH...FIELD HOCKEY GOES TO 4-0
Justine's Sowry's Field Hockey team improved to 4-0 on the season with a hard-fought 1-0 win over #14 Northwestern Sunday in Evanston, Illinois.
Senior Becca Maddock got the score for the Cards with 19:21 left in the second half...deflecting a Nicole Woods attempt into the goal.
The road action continues Friday with a match against Virginia in Charlottesville. No easy task ahead for the Cardinal stick swingers. The Cavs were preseason ranked
#6...one of four ACC teams in the top ten. #15 Louisville, #2 North Carolina, #4 Duke, #5 Syracuse, #6 Virginia, # 11 Wake Forest and unranked Boston College make up the ACC Field Hockey conference.
If you're headed to Charlottesville for the Saturday Louisville vs. Virginia football game, why not include the Friday 6 p.m. field hockey game in your plans?

SOCCER FALLS TO MIAMI
Louisville women's soccer fell to the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks 2-1 Sunday in Lynn Stadium. Louisville (2-3) couldn't find the back of the net in the first half and trailed the visitors 1-0.
The Cards tied it with four minutes gone in the second half with a score from freshman Inger Katrine Bojerke...but the RedHawks took a lead they wouldn't relinquish five minutes later.
Karen Ferguson Dayes' squad looks to get back to .500 with a Friday match at Morehead, KY against the Eagles.
