SUNDAY CARDINAL COUPLE

-Corral's goal in overtime gives Cards 2-1 win.

Charlyn Corral took a pass in the six-yard box four minutes into overtime against Purdue and drove it to the back of the net to give Louisville the win over the Boilermakers Saturday afternoon in West Lafayette, IN.

Corral scoring in a clutch situation. Pretty much commonplace stuff for the senior from Mexico City.

Louisville fell behind early to Purdue in the contest. Freshman Maddy Williams took a corner kick three minutes into the contest and booted the ball off the right post...only to have it deflect in.

The Boilermakers would not score on the Louisville defense or freshman goal keeper Paige Brown again.

Christine Exeter tied the contest with 27 seconds left in
the first half for Louisville...
catching Purdue goalie Clara Krider out of position and driving one home from 40 yards out. Maybe she should offer her services to the football team for kickoff duties.

The teams played a scoreless final 45 minutes with Purdue stopping two shots on goal from Corral midway through the half.

Louisville opens the regular season Friday night against Butler at Cardinal Park at 7 p.m.

    CFB Fact - Every SEC,ACC,Big 12,Pac 12,B1G challenger would go undefeated w/ Louisville's schedule- Every.Single.One

I know, we are a women's sports site...but WHY does Doug Gottlieb bash UofL sports every time he gets a chance?
