Road trip weekend for UofL sports -- FRIDAY CARDINAL COUPLE
PACK YOUR BAGS AND HIT THE ROAD...
A weekend where only Louisville women's soccer remains on the Belknap Campus while the remainder of the Fall Women's Sports and Football take to the airways and Interstates to compete. Destination stations of Michigan, North Carolina, Syracuse and Pittsburgh. Let's take a look at today's events.
Here's the agenda:
FRIDAY
We get things underway with FIELD HOCKEY taking on the Central Michigan Chippewas at 3 p.m.. The "Chips" are 1-3 on the season...getting their first win of the year against Quinnapiac. #8 Louisville is 4-0. CMU is located in Mt. Pleasant, MI. We hope it is an un-pleasant Friday for the Chips. Here's a link to the action if you want to watch:

-- VOLLEYBALL gets underway at 4 p.m. The "Serve and Block" Cards are in Chapel Hill, NC for the ACC vs. Big 10 Challenge. Challenge is the right word for it...they start off facing #5 Minnesota. Anne Kordes's Krewe is 4-2 on the season. You can watch the sets and kills on THE ACC NETWORK EXTRA via WATCHESPN.

-- LOUISVILLE MEN'S SOCCER heads up the Ohio River to battle the Pittsburgh Panthers at 7 p.m. Ken Lolla's Louligans dropped a close one to UK last time out 1-0...so they'll be looking to get back on the track in Steel City. It'll be available for viewing on the THE ACC NETWORK EXTRA vis WATCHESPN. Your link below:

-- LOUISVILLE WOMEN'S SOCCER takes to the turf at 7:30 in Lynn Stadium to host Ball State in a battle of Cardinals. The Louisville version of the red-birds are 4-1-1 (information, please?) on the year and those northern birds are 3-2-1. It's the first-ever match up between the two in Women's Soccer. You can get your kicks on THE ACC NETWORK EXTRA via WATCHESPN if you can't attend.

-- LOUISVILLE FOOTBALL draws the evening to a close against Syracuse in the Carrier Dome. "Lamarvelous" Jackson and his bastion of bashing Birds look to squeeze the Orange into pulp. 8 p.m. is the set-time for kick-off and it'll be shown on ESPN 2.
That should suffice in keeping you busy today. We'll have Paulie watching women's soccer, WorldWide following Volleyball and Case reporting on Football tomorrow in our daily CARDINAL COUPLE article. We'll discuss all the events on our radio show THE CARDINAL COUPLE RADIO HOUR which airs at 11 a.m. on WCHQ 100.9 FM and is available on the internet at www.crescenthillradio.com
Might we also suggest to you that you download the WCHQ app for your smartphone? You can go to the website and get the down-low on how to do so. It gets rave reviews from one of the Handicapping Heroes...ARCHIE KAREL...who recently discovered it. Just think about it...you can take WorldWide, Paulie and Case with you wherever you go!
(And that's a scary thought...)

Interesting factoid that the three fall women's sports that you are following the closest (Field Hockey, Volleyball and women's Soccer) each have four wins apiece. Which will get to ten first? I'll go with Field Hockey. The Deb Factor
ReplyDeleteHmmm. very interesting indeed. I'll go with Field Hockey as well. Maybe I'll make a poll out of it.

Volleyball
ReplyDeleteI wish, but given the next three matches on tap for the Kordes Krewe (Minn, Wisc, UK), I don't see it.
DeleteI gotta go with Field Hockey as well.
