WSOC Ties #3 Virginia ; Field Hockey falls -- Sunday Cardinal Couple

KICKIN' CARDS DRAW AGAINST HOOS

Better late than never...

Louisville WSOC got a goal from Amelia Swinarski in the final four minutes in the soccer match against the Canes  at Lynn Stadium on campus Saturday.

The squads went through a scoreless first half in a defense-dominated match...Louisville actually outshot the Cavs 8 to 3 in the contest but seven saves from UVA goalkeeper Victoria Safradin thwarted the Cards scoring efforts.

The #3 ranked Virginia squad got their goal in the 48th minute of play when Maggie Cagel took a feed from Olivia Rademaker and pushed one by Cards goalie Erin Floyd

With the tie, the cards remain tied form sixth place in the ACC Conference standings with Florida State.

The Cards (11-3-2, 4-2-2) gave Virginia (10-1-3) their first loss of the season but lost the corner kicks awarding to Virginia 6-5

The Cards head to Raleigh next for a Thursday match at NC State.
