YACINE DIOP INTERVIEW -- Women's Soccer Tonight -- THURSDAY CARDINAL COUPLE

THE YACINE DIOP INTERVIEW

A great pleasure and opportunity Wednesday to interview graduate student-athlete Yacine Diop, of the Louisville women's basketball team, at the ACC building.

Yacine (or "Ya-Ya") was there for a photo shoot and we got the change to talk in the main studio of the broadcast complex on Arthur St. An incredible building and a special thanks to Nick Evans, Louisville WBB S.I.D. for making it happen. He also took the photo of Yacine and I in the main studio

If you ever get the chance to visit or tour the facility, I strongly recommend you go.

What you'll hear below is a lively and informative interview with YA-YA that runs almost 15 minutes. We extend our best wishes to the beautiful, talented and focused wing for a great season and "mas suerte" in the 2019-20 campaign.

WOMEN'S SOCCER TONIGHT

The Dayton Flyers visit Lynn Stadium tonight to take on the undefeated Louisville women's soccer squad. Game time is 7:30 p.m. and available on-line at the ACCNX if you can't get there.

Dayton (1-4-1) leads the all-time series against Louisville 11-2. The Cards traveled there in 2018 and took a 1-0 win. The last time Dayton visited Louisville, the Cards faced them in the first round of the NCAA Tournament over at University Park and triumphed 2-0.

The Cards (5-0) look to get their second win over a school from Ohio tonight and we hope that goalkeeper Gabby Kouzelos can maintain her "shut-out" of opponents in Lynn tonight.

The Cards have out-scored the four opponents who have visited Lynn this season 8-0.

Seneba Restaurant, which she mentioned, is a great place to go.

  3. Ya-ya is a very articulate and composed young woman. Most certainly an asset to the UofL WBB program.

  4. Had a chance to meet this young lady last year, she was very approachable and so very pleasant, we had a nice little chat and that was before she knew if she was coming back this year or not.
