HINES- ALLEN, DURR 17 EACH IN WIN.
Louisville women's basketball jumped out to a 24-4 first quarter lead yesterday against the ClemsonWBB Tigers and never looked back in second day action in the ACC Women's Basketball tournament.
GOOD TO SEE THE FAB FOUR IN CONWAY !! |
"We got out well off of rebounds and passed the ball well. Myisha ran the floor extremely well.
By the half, Louisville held a 34-18 edge and the only questions left were how much the Cards would win by and what the media lunch buffet would have on it. The only cause for concern was Louisville's 1-10 three point shooting. (The buffet had burgers, dogs and potato salad)
I HAVE ANOTHER NEW BUDDY...RJ the Ram! |
"I don't know why you think that's bad. I mean that's kind of like alternative facts, is it not? It gave us 14 opportunities to get offensive rebounds. See, Paulie...you take some things and you churn them to however they fit you"
The Cards had 10 offensive rebounds in the game.
All smiles and fun in the 22 point romp. Things get very serious today, though, against a North Carolina State team that beat Louisville by two in the KFC YUM Center.
Let's hope the lively bantering can continue around 1 p.m...let's hope I'm free of internet connectivity woes and able to write another fun article about the Cards stay here at CCU.
POST GAME WALZ, HINES-ALLEN AND DURR
HOW DID FRED DO?
"IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD !!" |
Rebounding -- Cards held a 37-31 edge. No one in double figures. We'll give the small case "r" because of the edge.
Effort/Execution -- Cards did hold a 32-22 points in the paint. The fabulous first quarter alone is enough to award a capital "E"...but the three-point shooting has to get better.
Defense -- Holding Clemson to 46 points works. 28.8% Tiger shooting allows the capital "D"

SO...
Survive and advance this time of year. The Cards did enough early to do that and got good bench play...also essential. Asia and Myisha today played like first team All-ACC athletes. We hope that continues.
Jasmine and Kylee need to bring it today and Cortnee needs to rebound with authority and bountifulness. A start like today probably won't happen...but we can hope, can't we?
In other breaking news...Louie and the other 14 mascot participated in the the Mascot game at halftime yesterday. I'm proud to say Louie nailed a baseline jumper and led the Atlantic Division to a win over the Coastal contingent.

in the pick'em.......
Seven brave souls are 7-0 after two days. Congratulations to Sonja, Maker Not Shooter, Curtis Franklin, Blue Lou, Donald Duke, Carl and Cards 78. Eight contestants are at 6-1. I'm at 5-2 with three others...two at 4-3 and Matthew Mitchell For Governor is 1-6
Good luck all today!

DeleteIMHO, Cards are playing for a Top 16 seed today.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Jaz Jones. She will be a force at both ends of the court for years to come.
Is today's game blacked out also? Wish the watch ESPN ACC channel. Had shown the blackout of game prior to it's tip off.
ReplyDeleteWas able to watch as a replay but. Prior notice would have been helpful.
