ENTIRE PRESS CONFERENCE - CD Show
GREAT AUDIO!
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Cardinal Dominance - Cardinal Couple was on-hand today to catch the bittersweet retirement of 15 year UofL volleyball coach Leonid Yelin, and the exciting announcement of new UofL volleyball coach, the great ex-Louisville player Anne Kordes.
Kordes floored me with her demeanor, wit and out-going personality. I believe Louisville is in for a real treat with this one.... She is very direct and intense, as well as out-spoken with a strong voice. All the qualities you look for in a great coach. Kordes very sincerely shook my hand after the press conference, and she truly seems very grateful to be at Louisville.
Put it this way, I will be going to a lot of UofL volleyball games now..... She DEFINITELY has tweaked my interest, and her passion is contagious.
The woman means business, with no coach speak. Refreshing.
When you see Kordes and the new addition to her staff, Sarah Drury-Petkovic, who was an assistant at Indiana University Southeast, they look like a duo destined for greatness.
Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich was smiling ear to ear with this Kordes hire, and he says Kordes is not a home run, she is a "grand slam". Agreed Uncle Tom. Jurich was busy and it was hectic, but I was so wanting to ask him how HE keeps hitting grand slams with his coaching hires.
I can not say enough about this stellar Jurich hire in Anne Kordes.
Uncle Tom, you have far exceeded our expectations yet once again with the hire of Anne Kordes...
Here is a GREAT article and profile for HC Anne Kordes at UofL Sports. HIGHLY recommended reading.
