" and they asked me the meaning of this holiday and what it entailed...so I told them of the traditions, gatherings and fun. They were not impressed and returned me to my cell...where my fellow soldiers and prisioners were detained in various stages of dying and suffering. We clung to the hope that we would be liberated and returned to our homeland. Some days, it was a lot harder than others. You see...when you've had your freedom and lost it...it makes you appreciate it even more."
