A last second loss, a lot of controversy, a $20,000 fine, and fan outrage has led to an eventful several days recently. Louisville women's basketball looks to move past all of that when they visit Boston College tonight. The Cards and Eagles will tip off at 7:00 pm and will be aired on ACCNX.
Louisville defeated Boston College at the KFC Yum! Center 88-60 back in January. Kiki Jefferson scored a season-high 27 points and Elif Istanbulluoglu scored a career-high 11 points and four rebounds. UofL is 15-1 all-time against BC and 14-0 under Jeff Walz.
The Cards are 9-3 in the ACC, tied for third and just 1.5 games out of first. At 13.3 ppg, Jefferson leads the team. Olivia Cochran (11.2 ppg) and Nyla Harris (10.7 ppg). Cochran and Harris are each at 6.1 rebounds per game with the latter having three double-doubles in the last four games.

Boston College is 11-15 on the season and 3-10 in conference play. They have lost their last five games after facing Louisville on January 25 and ride a seven-game losing streak. BC's three conference wins have come against Miami, Pittsburgh, and Wake Forest. Two of those teams sit below the Eagles in the conference standings.
Andrea Daley (14.4 ppg), Teya Sidberry (13.5 ppg), Dontavia Waggoner (11.7 ppg), and T'yana Todd (11.4 ppg) all score in double figures for Boston College. They have three players averaging over five rebounds.
After coming off a loss in a questionable manner, I suspect we see the Cards coming out with a chip on their shoulder. Already having blown out the Eagles once, this should be another blowout win for Louisville.

FAU is 4-2 this season and have won their last three games. The Owls average 5.12 runs per game while allowing 3.5 runs per game. The Cards will play four more games in the tournament on Friday and Saturday.

ReplyDeleteBoston Collee hasn't been relevant in ACC WBB for a verry long time. A loss to them would really be a blow toward getting a top 4 ACC Tournament slot or a home site for the NCAA Tournament
