WBB WITH A 4 P.M. START AGAINST THE EAGLES
LOUISVILLE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL is part of a double-header in tthe KFC YUM! Center, playing the first of two games Wednesday. The Cards WBB squad faces a 4-5 Morehead State squad at 4 pm. The men follow...whenever.
On paper, it has all the earmarks of a blow out. i can't get too intimidted by team who loses to Presbyterian and Lipscomb. Alabama, the only school to hang a loss on Louisville, beat MSU by 41. These Eagles don't soar like the Eagles we all know and loved...(Don Henley, Don Felder, Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh). I'd give bunch to see them just one more time in the YUM!.Frey is gone, though, and Felder has become a recluse. Even Joe Walsh has settled down somewhat, and, who ever expected that to happen? We get older, I certainly feel it in my bones this morning...
On the game, I get a Peaceful, Easy Feeling the Cards will win easily. Let's hope MSU doen't stay in the Hotel California while in town, though..we don't want anything bad happeming to them. I would be revealng my Lyin' Eyes if a I told you I though Morehead could win his game. Hopeing that the Cards offense "Takes It to the Limit" against today's foe. and doesn't Take it Easy against today's foe. I Can't Tell You Why, but I think there's gonn be a Heartache Tonight for MSU. .
Morehead State offers a player named "Blessing" though...perhaps we should count her before the game...OK, maybe not...
On the court, Morehead loves to shoot the three and they make about eight a game. They also go to the offensive glass strong and grab about 16 a night. I bet Jeff Walz "stressed guard the shooter" and "block out on the boards" in practice...what do you think? The Eagles have four players who average nine points or more a contest...Veronica Charles (10.4), Melissa Secchiaroli (10.2) Katie Novak (9.4) and Hallie Rhodes (9.0) The Eagles are coached by Cayla Petree..she's in her third year at Morehead, and has made more coaching stops in herr career than a city bus going from Fern Creek to downtown Louisville.
Louiville, I expect will work on distribuiting the ball well and getting open looks, I'd be surprised if Walz's presses, but he's surprised me about 300 times while he's been at Louisville.
I hope Hennie and "the Elf" (Elif) get a lot of time tonight....they will be needed in conference play.
Hope to see you out there...and let's hope it is "Life In The Fast Lane' for UofL's high powerred offense tonight. The Louisville meen play after this game,,,I hope the women get the night game in this double-header One Of These Nights....if UofL continues these double-headers.
(Thanks for putting up with my silly Eagles song parodies in the article today... couldn't resist.)
