With Louisville women's soccer and field hockey both having concluded their seasons and Louisville volleyball having one more day before their big rematch with Pitt, we have some time to focus on Louisville women's basketball and their upcoming trip to the Bahamas.
The Cards head to Paradise Island, Bahamas for some beautiful weather and great basketball. The 2022 Battle 4 Atlantis welcomes eight Division I women's basketball teams separated into two four-team brackets with the bracket winners squaring off for the title. Louisville's draw includes Gonzaga, Texas, and Marquette. The other side features Tennessee, South Dakota State, Rutgers, and UCLA.
#6 Louisville will go up against receiving votes Gonzaga on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. The winner of that game will face the winner of #3 Texas and unranked Marquette at a time to be announced on Sunday, Nov. 20.
The other side of the bracket will be #11 Tennessee vs Rutgers and receiving votes South Dakota State vs receiving votes UCLA.
The Cards and Zags is a rematch from the second round of the NCAA Tournament last year, a game that Louisville won 68-59 at the KFC Yum! Center. Louisville also faced Tennessee last season, defeating the in the Sweet Sixteen to advance to the Elite Eight.
In the 2021 Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament, South Carolina defeated UConn for the title. The two powerhouses would later meet in the NCAA Championship with the same result. Oregon, South Florida, Buffalo, Syracuse, Oklahoma, and Minnesota also competed last year.
The women's Battle 4 Atlantis is still in its youth compared to the men's side, which has been going on since 2011. Louisville men's basketball competed in 2012 and and 2016, finishing runner-up both times.
This year's Battle 4 Atlantis will be aired on FloHoops TV. You can also tune into 93.9 FM to hear it on radio.
Happy Thursday and Go Cards!

I hate that this is on Flo TV,. But, I hate most pay-per view, month or year sites anyway. Guess I'll be following on the radio, Is Cardinal Couple sending anyone down to the games?
