Exeter selected as a Top 100 women's soccer player

WEDNESDAY CARDINAL COUPLE:

-Christine Exeter selected as Top 100 Soccer player

-Up but hobbling...

-Angel, Atlanta down LA 84-79.

UofL women's soccer sophomore forward Christine Exeter had been selected as one of the top 100 soccer players on the collegiate level by Top Drawer Soccer.com. The 2010 BIG EAST Rookie of the Year checked in at #69 on the list, which included 15 BIG EAST Soccer women athletes.

"Our team and coaching staff are all very proud of Christine for being named one of the top 100 collegiate players by Top Drawer Soccer" said UofL head women's soccer coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes. "She had a fantastic freshman season and we know she will be just as dangerous again this year."

Exeter was the leading scorer for UofL last season with seven goals and had three game-winning scores. The Cards travel to EKU this Friday to start the regular season and will kick off the home schedule Sunday, August 28th. when Illinois visits. Louisville tied Vanderbilt in a 0-0 scrimmage at Cardinal Park last week.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Pickering, ONT.,Canada resident for the accolades! (Seems like Canadians have been part of the Louisville women's sports landscape a lot lately).

CARDINAL COUPLE has been hit by a particularly nasty invasion attempt by an unknown source and we're running at about half-mast today.

WE noticed some problems in design capabilities yesterday morning and found out that we were unable to edit or change several things on OUR site...including the infamous "left side of the site" and headlines and top banners. IT got worse when we lost all admin privileges later in the morning. WE were basically unable to access the site. A call to CARDINAL COUPLE correspondent David Watson found him out of town and unable to check his accessibility. Fortunately, Donald Yaste was able to log in as a writer and able to "re-invite" us to post on the site we created. We were at panic mode and want to thank Donald for his quick and noble help.

So, we're unable to still do several things that we normally can here. We've also lost the ability to access the admin feature of the site...which means the top picture and left hand side of CARDINAL COUPLE cannot be updated or designed. So, you get a volleyball up top...which we're sure Anne Kordes doesn't mind.

WE have no idea how long it's going to take to restore those capabilities. BLOGGER, the people we use to host CARDINAL COUPLE do not have technical support help available by phone. Trying to figure out how to identify and re-store admin privileges by reading the help guide tutorials is like having Co-Co pilot the space shuttle. It ain't happening.

So, we apologize for the limited capabilities we are stuck with. We ARE able to
post articles
though...and that's a good thing. We admit WE are pretty technically challenged and could really use some help here. IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS ON HOW WE CAN RE-ESTABLISH OR ADD AN ADMIN TO THE SITE...please e-mail us at:

Thank you.

Update...11 a.m.

Still no relief or help. (George is getting angry!)

A wild end to the Atlanta Dream vs. Los Angeles Sparks WNBA game last night. Candace Parker received two technical fouls and was ejected from the contest with .3 seconds to go in a 84-79 Dream win. LA was trying to score...down by three...with time expiring when Parker went ballistic...claiming the shooter had been fouled on a three point attempt. Referee Felicia Grinter (who occasionally refs UofL games) disagreed. Parker belabored the point and was whistled up for two technical fouls and ejected from the game. Angel McCoughtry sank both free throws for the final five point margin of victory.

Angel led Atlanta (12-12) with 23 points and Erika de Souza added 18 for Atlanta. It was Parker's first game back in seven weeks after undergoing knee surgery.
