Cards Welcome FSU For Senior Day -- THURSDAY CARDINAL COUPLE

Louisville Will Honor Three Seniors

Louisville women's basketball will recognize three seniors before their final home game tonight. Kiki Jefferson, Nina Rickards, and Sydney Taylor will all wrap up their respective collegiate careers at the end of this season. The trio transferred in from their previous schools to utilize their COVID-19 eligibility seasons.

#23 Louisville will face off against Florida State at 8:00pm. This game will be aired on ACC Network. The Cards and Seminoles are part of a four-way tie for third place in the ACC.

Coming off a loss to Virginia, Louisville enters the game 22-7 on the year and 11-5 in the ACC. UofL has lost five or more ACC games in a season just twice, this year and last year.

The Seminoles enter the night with a 20-8 record and 11-5 in conference play. They're riding a three-game win streak, most recently having defeated Boston College by 13. FSU has won six of their last seven games with that only loss in that grouping coming in double overtime against Notre Dame. They do have a couple of resume building wins against Virginia Tech and North Carolina.

Reigning ACC Freshman of the Year Ta'Niya Latson leads the Noles with 21.7 points per game and 4.3 assists per game. Makayla Timpson (14.0 ppg), O'Mariah Gordon (13.4 ppg), and Sara Bejedi (12.5 ppg) also score in double figures. Timpson is just shy of averaging a double-double as she pulls in 9.8 rebounds per game.

As a team, Florida State outscores opponents by 10 points per game. Most of their damage comes from within the arc, where they shoot 42.4% per game. They've struggled with rebounding some but have made up for it on defense by forcing 15 turnovers per game.

The Cards have a lot on the line tonight. A loss would knock the Cards out of the rankings, out of the top four in the ACC, and give them three straight home losses in KFC Yum! Center history. A win keeps the Cards in the rankings, just about locks them in for a top four spot in the conference and gets the Cards back on a home win streak.

Paulie, Daryl, and myself will be present for this one.

Happy Thursday and Go Cards!

Jared
