HENDERSON'S BEST TOSS OF SEASON PUTS HER IN NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Emmonnie Henderson started the day of NCAA preliminary qualifying events in Jacksonville, FL with her best toss of the season...sending the discus 54.18m/177.9 to finish in seventh place in the event...which qualified her for the NCAA Championships. Her toss was five meters behind the leading toss of the day...by Kellion Knibb (Florida State). The top twelve finishers qualified for the finals in Eugene, OR June 8-11th.

It's the second year in a row that Henderson has qualified for the NCAA Championships in the discus and keeps her dreams alive for making the USA Olympic team.

Best of luck to "E" -- but she has a long way to go. The qualifying standard for the US Olympic Trials is 57 meters and the qualifying standard for the Olypmics is 61 meters. The top discus throw in the world this year is 70.88 meters.
