Photo Highlights: Field Hockey -- TUESDAY CARDINAL COUPLE

Photo Highlights: Field Hockey

The photo highlights from the spring and winter sports was popular and we heard positive feedback from several folks.  That, plus the fact we still have months to go before we see sports again, led to the continuation of photo highlights.  We rewind all the way back to the fall of 2019.

Field hockey had a historic 16-6 season that finished with them advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals (Elite Eight).

Let's take a look at some of my favorite photos from this year:

When scrolling through Facebook last night I saw where espnW posted this.  Which house will you choose?

Remember to stay safe when heading outside.  Going for a walk or hike is a good way to get exercise in and get outside without dealing with the public.

Thank you to all of our essential workers who continue to put themselves at risk on a daily basis to make our lives a bit easier during these challenging times.

On a side note, congratulations to the men's basketball team on winning the 2020 NCAA Championship based on a computer simulator hosted by (@NCAAsim2020) on Twitter.

Happy Tuesday and Go Cards!

  1. Great photos Jared! Field Hockey had a heck of a season!

I choose #4. I could listen to Rebecca Lobo all day. I could watch Elena Della Donne play 1 on 1 against Mapheesa Collier all day long and Lobo call the match-up. I'd gladly help Simone stretch to do her floor exercises.

Stay safe. Stay away from folks. Please wear a mask if you are shopping. You are protecting yourself, fellow shoppers and people like me that make sure the shelves are full for you.

Thank you. Remember, we are ALL in this together.

  2. Great FH pictures, Jared.

It brought back memories of my oldest daughter's playing days (not at Louisville but "up" north-east).

I hope all readers are coping OK with social distancing and staying well. The four of us here at the Watson abode are co-existing peacefully with each other, sharing in daily tasks and we took on a new venture over the weekend/Monday

We have cleared ground for a vegetable garden and prepared the soil for planting. We have planted items. We have watered and weeded.

This is back-breaking work, if you are taking land that has never been tilled or cultivated to grow anything but grass. We don't have a tiller, so the preparation was done with hoes, shovels, rakes and lots of "on your knees" clearing work. I'm glad we have my youngest two here at home, they were the "mules" in this process.

Tomatoes, peppers, squash, onions, green beans and potatoes are the items that we planted. It'll be interesting to see how they turn out.

Or, as I say "Farmer David had a farm, e-i-e-i-o
And on that farm there's plants and seeds. e-i-e-i-o
With a green bean here, tomato plant there, here a
squash, there a spud everywhere an onion, bud.
Farmer David has a farm. Let's hope it isn't a dud.
