Soccer, Softball with Friday wins

SATURDAY CARDINAL COUPLE:

-Soccer rolls over Villanova

-Morehead falls to UofL Softball

-Sara-Maude Juneau cards a 70
The University of Louisville women's soccer team improved to 9-4 with
a big win over Villanova in Cardinal Park yesterday 5-2. Villanova contributed to the Cards success early by actually scoring a goal against themselves when goalie Erin Ryan mishandled the ball and put in into her own net. Nova would roll back and tie the score at 1-1 minutes later but the Cards would regain the lead when Emily Cardell found paydirt on a pass from Christine Exeter.
Nova tied it when Heidi Sabatura connected on a 10 yard fire past Louisville goalie Taylor Vancil but the Wildcats would not score the rest of the game.
Louisville also got goals from Exeter, Caitlin Rehder and Jordan Pawlik to improve to 3-3 in BIG EAST play. They face Georgetown Sunday and the match will be shown on WHAS-TV live at 1 p.m.
