FH Waits for Selection Sunday -- Volleyball to Prepare for Weekend at Home -- THURSDAY CARDINAL COUPLE

Field Hockey Waits for Selection Sunday

Paulie recapped Louisville's Tuesday field hockey's loss to Virginia in yesterday's article. The Cavaliers went on to take down Wake Forest 3-2 yesterday to advance to the ACC Championship against North Carolina.

Louisville now sits back and awaits for Sunday night. The NCAA Selection Show will be at 10:00 p.m. ET this Sunday. The Cards are riding a four-game losing streak and hold a 12-7 record on the year.

Louisville is currently the fifth-ranked ACC team behind North Carolina, Virginia, Wake Forest, and Syracuse. Overall, Louisville is 12th in the Coaches Poll and ninth in the RPI. With an 19-team field for the NCAA Tournament (nine automatic qualifiers and nine at-large bids), Louisville is a bubble team that must hope the NCAA Selection Committee is willing to give the Cards a chance.

Volleyball Prepares for the Weekend at Home

With a 20-2 record on the season, #5 Louisville prepares to host NC State and North Carolina this weekend at the L&N FCU Arena. Despite being ranked fifth in the AVCA Poll, the Cards are second in the most recent NCAA Selection Committee rankings.

After a five-set loss at Pitt two weeks ago, the Cards bounced back by sweeping Notre Dame at the KFC Yum! Center in front of 9000 fans before then sweeping Duke on campus.

The Wolfpack are 12-11 on the year with a 6-6 ACC record. The Tar Heels are also 6-6 in the ACC but have an overall record of 14-9.

Friday's match against NC State will begin at 7:00 p.m. while the North Carolina match will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday. Both matches will be on ACCNX.
