FRIDAYS WITH DARYL

Ketchup Catching Up With Daaryl

Good Friday morning readers, we are 10 days till Christmas... I hope you're finding some things to be very merry about this year. We will be heading south for a couple days to celebrate the holiday & hopefully come back recharged and ready to start the new year!  It'll be wedding planning year!!

Jeff Walz had a presser yesterday...none of our crew was able to make it there, but here it is for you...  WALZ 12/14/23

There were unfortunately no games last night for the Cardinals and none today so we will do a couple shout outs.

Shout out to the Women's Basketball team for winning their 7th straight over UK.  That is quite a dominate streak in a series as heated as this one.   The Cats tried their hardest to make it interesting before Louisville was able to pull away for the victory.

Olivia Cochran secured her 1,000th point of her career here at Louisville.  Shoutout to Olivia Cochran, I am so proud of you and glad you are a Cardinal!

The Cardinals have a big one on Saturday afternoon against the UCONN Huskies.   It's the battle between the #17/18 squads.  UConn has 3 losses to nationally ranked squads.   Per usual, a win over the Huskies would be a great resume builder.

I also wanted to shoutout the Volleyball Cards for another incredible season.   Of course it is disappointing to lose in the post season especially in reverse sweep fashion to an ACC foe.  Its hard to win on the road especially when you get down to the Elite 8 squads.

(We need a counter t-shirt)

My thoughts on the match... besides the first set, Pitt dominated the Cards.   The Panthers were able to get their star player going towards the end of the second set and after that, the Cards were unable to find any offense as evident in that final 3 sets but especially the fifth when Pitt got out to at least a 7-1 lead over UofL.  It was disappointing to see but the Cards will be back!  At least Pitt got eliminated by Nebraska in straight sets in the Final Four. Paulie and Jared will tell you, they hate Pitt...we should get them matching t-shirts...

Congrats to the Cardinals on another hard fought season.   We look forward to next year already!!

As Always,

Go Cards
