Rouse gets Called Up; Cason Below Cut Line -- SATURDAY CARDINAL COUPLE

Mollie Rouse Invited to Camp with England

In the latest news for the UofL women's soccer team, after what has been quite a busy spring, Mollie Rouse has been invited to the U20 (under 20) National Team Camp for the England Women's National Team. These identification/training camps are key for players with national team aspirations to be a part of. National teams find most of their players out of these camps, and like to build the relationships of their talented players as early as possible. After having already been a member of the U-17 and U-19 teams, Rouse's invitation is a continuation of her recognition and bodes well for her future. Next week's camp is set to prepare/select the team for the upcoming U20 Women's World Cup, and being involved with this camp makes Rouse a contender for making England's roster for next year's Women's World Cup. If not next year's team, Rouse will at least be in a better position of being recognized for future use with the national team. Good luck to Mollie as she continues her professional career.

Olivia Cason Likely to Miss Cut

Although second round play in the LPGA US Open was suspended until today due to dangerous weather, those that have finished their two rounds have put weekend play out of reach for UofL's Olivia Cason. Cason struggled in what was likely poor weather all day and carded a 7-over 79 in her second round at Shoal Creek. The projected cut is set for +5, which puts Cason's +11 well out of reach. Cason had uncharacteristic trouble at the NCAA tournament, as well, but golf can be a streaky sport. Olivia has not likely lost the ability to golf, as we remember that she was the team leader for most of the season and won an individual event to qualify for the Open. The junior will return as a team leader next season.

Cardinal Couple Radio Hour

After some minor car concerns last night (apparently those are common when your vehicle sits still for 2 months), I've sorted them all out to prepare for an appearance at the WCHQ station today. All four regulars will be in the studio for today's Cardinal Couple Radio Hour, where I'm sure we'll figure out something to talk about for the full hour. Tune in to 100.9 WCHQ FM if you're in the area. If not, you can find us online at wchqfm.com, WCHQ FM on facebook, or on the WCHQ app. The show, as normal, starts at 11AM and ends whenever you feel you've had enough of our antics!

Until next time, Go Cards!
