Duke does Louisville Volleyball in three sets...Radio Today! -- SATURDAY CARDINAL COUPLE

BLUE DEVILS SWEEP WIDE-NETTERS

It seems all too often we have to write Volleyball articles this year analyzing Louisville Volleyball losses. We'll do that on today's radio show...THE CARDINAL COUPLE RADIO HOUR...this morning at 11 a.m....so today I'll give you four positives on the 22-25, 24-26, 15-25 loss to Dookies in Durham.

1) Staying close. The Cards gave Duke all they wanted in the first two sets. They even got a little bonus volleyball in the second. Duke made the necessary adjustments at the half and played like the 2-loss team they are in the ACC...but they realized that the Cards weren't slipping off quietly into the Carolina moonlight.

2) Tess Clark. The middie continues to be the leader on the court for the Cards. It's a rebuilding year, yes...and Clark, a junior, knows that this year's experiences will only make them strong in 2017. 

3) Molly Sauer. The sophomore continues to "dig" her heart out. 20 out of the 56 for the Cards yesterday and she tossed in three blocks as well. Playing hard and never faltering...it's going to be a pleasure to see her perform the next two years for Anne Kordes.

4) Melanie McHenry. This fab frosh continues to hold her own at the outside hitter role and delivered eight kills against a very imposing Blue Devil front line. You have to be excited about what the future holds for the "Speedway Sprocket"
and the potential ahead. 

We are all a bit disappointed in this season...no doubt...but the lessons learned this year will make the Serve and Kill Cards that much better next year.
