Catching up with...swimming, tennis and track & field -- SATURDAY CARDINAL COUPLE

SPLASH AND DIVE CARDS CRACK TOP TEN

Good things have been going on in the Ralph Wright Natatorium lately for Arthur Albiero's swimmers and divers and additional good news was received yesterday when the University of Louisville women's swimming and diving team was ranked 10th. in the CSCAA Poll.

Led by All-American Kelsi Worrell , the Cards swam past Florida State last weekend in Tallahassee and will host UK next weekend in "The Ralph". The Cards will also host IU and the Louisville Invitational over the next few weeks before competing in the ACC Championships in Greensboro, NC beginning Feb. 17th.

TENNIS OPENS SPRING SEASON TODAY

Practice the "tennis clap" and get ready to argue with a line judge...the Louisville women's tennis squad opens their spring season today in a dual meet at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

Yes, it is indoors...

The "Racket" Cards will serve it up against WKU at 10:30 a.m. and then Southern Illinois at 3:30 p.m.

Cards doubles tandem of Ariana Rodriguez and Sena Suswam are ranked 54th. in the ITA poll and Louisville does get highly prized recruit Ola Mally back on the court after a medical red-shirt year.

Anyone for tennis? Today's your day, then. We'll try to provide a update on the action during The Cardinal Couple Radio Hour today at 11 a.m.

HENDERSON THROWS IN KY. INVITATIONAL

Field events performer extraordinaire Emmonnie Henderson is competing in the two-day Kentucky Invitational at the Nutter Field House in Lexington, KY.

She and the women's throwers competed in the weight toss Friday and "E" finished 18th...with a personal best for her in the weight throw. Junior "Hello" Dolly Nyemah led the Cardinal contingent with an eight place finish, Rachel Serafin ended up 16th., Freshman Cyerra Cassell was 19th and Megan Brooks finished at 38th.

Dale Cowper's tossers will do the shot put today. Louisville's distance medley relay team recorded a fourth place finish yesterday. Action starts this morning at 9 a.m. with the high jump.

COORDINATE YOUR LISTENING DEVICES

The CARDINAL COUPLE RADIO HOUR comes at you today at 11 a.m. and women's basketball will be the topic du jour for today's broadcast. We'll get in a little swimming, track/field and tennis as well (sounds pretty strenuous, eh?) beginning at 11 a.m. on WCHQ 100.9 and streaming live on the internet at www.crescenthillradio.com

We've got audio clips from the win over Duke, a Worldwide quiz and quarter-final results from the first annual invitational station aquatic-optional bocce tournament for you, also.

It's not the size of the balls, it's how well you use them.
Sam the Intern is out with laryngitis (probably from yelling too much at the bocce tournament) but Paulie, Worldwide and probably Paige will be seated behind the microphones to discuss, deliberate and dissect the joy and excitement of UofL women's sports. You just might want to grab your balls and tune in...as we discuss semi-final matchups between Punkin' vs. Don Paulie and Tara Bassett vs. Smooth Charlie...

The show is up at the link below:
