Henderson in discus today -- FH tosses a teaser -- Radio today...Saturday Cardinal Couple

"E" does discus today in Oregon

Emmonnie Henderson will try and shock the women's college discus work when the compete's in the NCAA Championship Finals today in Eugene. OR.

Henderson is one of 24 finalists in the event...in fact, she is the 24th. qualifier in the field of 24. Anything can happen on any particular day, though...so we wish her the best in tossing the plate across the lawn.

Radio Today

The weekly edition of the CARDINAL COUPLE RADIO HOUR airs today at 11 a.m. We have a nice show planned today...talking about "E"'s accomplishments, hoops, field hockey, soccer and much, much more.

Sam the Intern will share the studio with Paulie as Worldwide continues his global travels with Bill The Goat in search of that perfect wave and ideal surf.

We'll also toss a quiz at the unflappable Sam and see if he can duplicate last week's score of 110. We took it way too easy on him last week and a much tougher quiz awaits him today.

Elite Skills Camp today

UofL WBB has the first of two Elite Skills camps today from noon - 4 p.m. This one brings in the high school hopefuls and they'll go through what a typical day of practice is like on the DI level.

Events take place in Cardinal Arena and in the new Student Recreation Center on campus. I haven't seen the new facility yet and will most likely drop by to have a look.

Field Hockey teaser

We now know one of Louisville's 2015 road games.  Hello, Bears!
Oh, that coquettish Justine Sowry! We've been good boys and girls and waited patiently for the 2015 Louisville Field Hockey schedule to be released. Sleepless nights, facing the living room...wondering, waiting, speculating.

OK, we really haven't been doing that...but, we did get this snippet Friday:

University of Louisville field hockey coach Justine Sowry has announced that the 2015 schedule has been set. Follow the Cards on social media to get a game-by-game look at the schedule which features 10 regular season games at Trager Stadium. Visit GoCards.com for the full schedule release on June 26.

"The 2015 fall season is fast approaching and we couldn't be more excited to get started," said Sowry. "Heading into our second year within the ACC, the expectations will be higher following a successful 2014 campaign. It is a brand new year with a very different looking team. The schedule is a challenging one and it presents a great opportunity for our young squad to solidify itself as one of the top programs in the best conference in the country."

The Cardinals welcome eight newcomers and return 14 players including six starters from last season's team which posted a 15-6 overall record and went 3-3 in its inaugural ACC campaign. The Cards were ranked as high as No. 5 in the NFHCA coaches' poll and finished the season at No. 10 after spending the final six weeks ranked in the top 10. UofL earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship, but fell 2-1 in overtime to Stanford in the first round.
