FOUR UOFL HOME RUNS IN SHUTOUT
After Daisy Hess and "Pickle" Winkle reached via the base on balls route in the top of the fifth, Frizell decided she didn't like that look and cleared the bases with a booming moon shot over the center field fence that home run put the Cards up to stay. but Louisville wasn't done with the scoring yet in the inning. Miller followed with her home run to center and walks were issued to Ally Alexander and Gabby Holloway, That set the stage for Richardson to crush one to left that made it 7-0.
Louisville added their final two runs in the top of the seventh. After Alexander reached on a single, Richardson sent Mr. Spalding in search of prime right field property with her second home run and it was 9-0 UofL.
So the Cards take the series, their first in the ACC this year. Zabala goes six innings to improve her record to 15-9, most wins in the league. Holloway pitched the seventh. The Cards now head home and then to a Tuesday matchup at NKU vs, NKU.
A good Easter for Louisville and an encouraging show of batting.

Give who a chance to do better, the Cards or Middle?
ReplyDeleteI didn't enter the contest (missed the notification of the 10:30 deadline) but feel that UConn will be cutting down the nets in Cleveland. Bueckers is playing at a Clark-like level and has a better supporting cast. Really looking forward to tonight's games. Should be two good ones.
